PC sales fall, Apple in top 5
Apple may be the 4th largest PC manufacturer in america, based on analyst firm NPD Intelect.
The analysts agree that PC-makers experienced poor sales in June when compared to same month this past year, but Apple still maintains 4.9 percent from the market.
The figures don’t include network marketing – and 40 percent of Apple’s sales are created directly through its online Apple Store.
NPD Intelect stated unit sales for June 2001 were lower 26.5 percent, and revenue was lower 24.6 percent in contrast to June this past year.
For that first six several weeks of 2001, total unit sales were 2.5 million, lower 19.5 percent in the last year period. Revenue for that first 1 / 2 of 2001 was $2.5billion, lower 25.5 percent from this past year.
Poor sales have motivated cost reductions, and PC makers happen to be made to lower income, based on the firm.
The very best five PC movers-and-shakers are: HP, which controls 42.8 percent of share of the market Compaq, that has 34.2 percent Emachines that has 10.4 percent Apple, which makes up about 4.9 percent and The new sony, which taken 3.9 percent.
